Life in Nazi Germany, women and the family

1) How did Hitler try and encourage marriage as soon as he came to power?

Hitler created a law concerning marriage as soon as he came to power, he wanted to encourage marriage in Germany, as a bigger population was needed and he wanted as many children as a marriage could, with this, he also aimed to the future, as the country was going to need military forces to defend and serve the country in war. To encourage this, Hitler gave money for each children a marriage had.

2) According to Nazi ideology, what roles did men and women have?

The roles of women for Nazi's was simple, to take care of the children in house, and raise them, while men were in war defending the country or working for t. They thought women had no reason to work.

3) Using the information on this sheet, create a spider diagram clearly showing what women were expected to do, and what was not acceptable.

4) Using your spider diagram, create a table illustrating differences between our society today and Nazi Germany in the 1930s.

5) Why do you think Hitler placed such importance on the role of women?

In my opinion, women were important for Hitler simply because without women, populations couldn't grow in the nation, and Hitler needed that in order to cover the deaths Germany was having in war, without women, the country would have only old population and the military power of it couldn't maintain through the war, they needed women to have children.

6) What evidence is there to suggest that there were some contradictions in Nazi policies towards women?

7) "The Nazis were never really interested in the traditional family life". Using all the sources together with our previous answers, explain in no less than 100 words, your opinion of the statement. You will need to find evidence to both agree and disagree with the statement.

Do newspapers, magazines, television, radio, movies, the Internet, and other media determine what is important to most people?

There are many ways to know what is happening in the present, such as newspapers, magazines, television, radio, movies, the Internet and others. This ways are a great source of informtion to everybody in the world, as they cover a great part of the wold news.

I do think that the different media and other neews feeds around the society determines what is important for most of the people, because they control a huge part of what people know in the present, anyway, the news that every media shows is more or less determined by what people want to know or at least what they should want to, eventhough, I think that in the end, people just reads what they want to know, and that is determined by everybody´s personal interests, because obviously there are persons that for example don´t want to know about what is happening between North and South Korea, but they want to know about other things that for other ersons are less improtant.

Paper 2: Letter or email giving advice

Dear Mr. Besoain

I understand your worries about the case with your son. But to be honest, there are several cases tht have tested and proved that the violent video games don`t affec in the attitudes or personality of a oung boy or girl, so you shouldn`t be that worried, anyway, there are some things I advice you to do,, for example, in every game there is a label that displays the age restriction of that particlar game, so you should check that label in all of the games your son plays, because if he doesn`t have the required age to play a game that may have an impact in your boy personality.
